In 2003 after several years of careful planning, Ernesto Moreno and Alfonso Alvarez, decided to turn a dream into a reality. To share the beauty El Sunzal beach, with local and foreign tourists, through a new hotel that will meet the highest standards of comfort, service, security and privacy. Builded around rocks and framed by an exuberant tropical vegetation Casa de Mar Hotel and Villas was borned.

Ernesto and Alfonso started the construction of Casa de Mar Hotel and Villas, in September of 2003 with the goal to turn a rocky cliff into a tropical paradise. In September of 2004 the first stage of the project was completed.

Both partners have been practicing extreme sports like surfing, motocross and diving since their early ages. It is why Casa de Mar Hotel and Villas was constructed at Sunzal, one of the most extraordinary places in Central America to practice the exciting sport of surfing.

Alfonso practices surfing since 1971. Due to this passion he constructed together with his brother Diego, on the neighboring cliff their gourmet restaurant Cafe Sunzal, which opens its doors to the public in February of 2000. In July of 2004 both of them inaugurated Casa Las Magnolias a small and exclusive Boutique Hotel in San Salvador. This is how Alfonso got initiated tourism industry.

Ernesto who also practices extreme sports and has a passion for architecture and interior design as a hobby, closely collaborated in the development and conceptualization of Casa de Mar Hotel and Villas.
